Fayyad: Balance of power favors the opposition, true partnership is in decision making

Hizbullah candidate for the Marjayoun - Hasbayya District Dr. Ali Fayyad, said that "it is very difficult to find appropriate mechanisms and trends in a politically troubled and unstable country, except through forming a national unity government that deals with economic, political and social crisis, and promotes a climate of national dialogue backing it with a fruitful and embracing environment."

He noted that the "balance of power is tilting in favor of the opposition, yet it does not seek to employ this advantage domestically, because true partnership is in decision making and in the crucial issues inside the Cabinet, as required by the constitution."

He further added "This is our understanding of the political regime in Lebanon, whereby none of the parties imposes realities that are distant and removed from shared understanding and partnership."

Fayyad was speaking at a joint campaign meeting held in the border town of Hula with MP Ali Hassan Khalil, the political aide to President Nabih Berri.
