On Tuesday, the Lebanese Forces chief received at his residence in Maarab the Phalange party's candidate for the forthcoming parliamentary elections Sami Gemayel and discussed with him the latest electoral developments as well as Jumblatt's speech.

According to Geagea, the March 14 alliance must remain unified unified "or else we do not know what Lebanon's future will be." Geagea, who said that the LF would support all the Phalange party's candidates in all districts all over Lebanon, recalled the "sacrifices" his party has paid in favor of the March 14 bloc. "An additional sacrifice will not affect us," he said.

Gemayel, in turn, said that he expressed reservation toward Jumblatt's latest speech. "The Phalange party wanted to bring Lebanese together, not separate them," he said. "The unity of the Mountain is a priority. We overcame harder times before. We are adamant about forging good relations with the Progressive Socialist Party and between Christians and Druze," Gemayel said.
