Hizbullah candidate for Marjayoun - Hasbayya district Dr. Ali Fayyad stressed that "the recent position taken by the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, regarding Hizbullah's attempt to support the Palestinian people in Gaza, and his dispatch for "Larsen" to the region to amplify this issue and present it as a regional crisis, deepens the people's sense in the whole region, not only Hizbullah or the resistance, by the UN institutions "Israel" bias, its double standards and its covering up for 'Israeli' crimes."

Fayyad criticized the UN SG's always "Israel" biased position, indicating that "he has not taken interest in revealing the terrorist networks 'Israel' set up in Lebanon planning and preparing the ground work for criminal acts against Lebanese territory in breach of its sovereignty, with the aim of fomenting unrest and discord among the Lebanese.

Fayyad stressed that "this SG's position clearly contradicts UN Resolution 1701, which clearly states in its principle clause that the UN's role is to help Lebanon in protecting its sovereignty and extending its authority over its territory! Instead, he goes along with the "Israeli" enemy stands, giving them cover, without identifying at all with the aspirations and hopes of the Lebanese people."
