Today was another unforgettable day for half of the Lebanese people, four families and a fading project.

The pictures of the four Generals were raised again, but this time not as the "Cedars Revolution" wanted to portray them. They are free men.

The four Generals are free and their freedom was the last nail in the coffin of the most complicated and politicized era that was intended to establish theories of how to rule based on monopolization for personal ends.

Three years, seven months and twenty nine days... a long interval during which some have exploited slogans of security and justice to distort fixed national standards and divert them to fit the so called

"New hybrid Middle East" and canned democracy.

Today, April 29th 2009, was catastrophic for the conspirators who had sought to raise the slogan of short-of-evidence vengeance.

What would those tell half of the Lebanese people who rejected arbitrary, political detention? What will happen next... after the disappointed have read their remorse on paper without apologizing for wasting nearly four years of the lives of four senior officers?

What has happened today was a sheer breakdown of a project founded on blind revenge; an absolute collapse of foreign, Arab and ‘Israeli' levers that aimed at eradicating Lebanon's identity and its unique formula of coexistence.

Some will cry today of regret and others will rejoice, for this is no longer a matter of release; it's a matter of liberation from years of systematic and politicized oppression and fabrications that nearly destroyed Lebanon.

The scenes in Lebanon were strikingly different; a scene of joy and another of sorrow and regret for a Lebanese judiciary system that was pronounced dead in the halls of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in the Hague.
