Fayyad: Release of the four officers necessitates reform of the judicial system, to make it free & independent

Hizbullah candidate for Marjayoun - Hasbayya district Dr. Ali Fayyad, stressed that "The release of the four officers, should prompt a re-adjustment of an entire political stage that was used to shift the martyrdom of former Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri, to a pretext to crack down on the resistance option and the normal relations between Syria and Lebanon; the political place of these relations was established by blood over more than two decades against all attempts at placing the country under American influence."

He added that an article in the Taif Accord "decrees for the reformation of the judicial system to become independent and removed from politics or politicians. What occurred actually reveals that this section of the Taif has not been implemented."

Fayyad called for "...the necessity to seize the moment of truth and end this course of disguising and obscuration of the truth related to the assassination of martyr Prime Minister Rafik Hariri."
