Raad: We want to win elections to stop unilateralism and monopolization
3-5-2009
Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammad Raad said during a political gathering in Nabatiyeh on Sunday that the opposition wants to win the parliamentary majority in order to prevent unilateralism and monopolization of power, and not to cancel out the March 14 alliance.
He said the opposition is seeking power to facilitate national partnership and consensus, and it will not take unilateral decisions affecting Lebanon.
Raad also said that a Lebanese faction wants to reject the National Pact by refusing consensus and partnership. "This faction considers the Resistance a militia, and according to the international resolution militias should be disarmed," he explained.
Raad said that whoever wants partnership is welcome to work with the opposition, however those who do not want partnership should not attempt to destroy cooperation.
