The former minister Michel Samaha told Lebanese website Elnashra that the Lebanese judiciary is set to face the challenge on Tuesday. "If the HJC agrees to cover the two judges' breach, it would be telling Lebanese that the judges' oath is meaningless," Samaha said, adding that he doesn't want to expect anything ahead of the meeting. "All members of the HJC took an oath and tomorrow, they will show the Lebanese whether they respect it or not," he said.

The former minister, who refused to announce the opposition's next steps ahead of the HJC meeting, slammed the fact that Judge Said Mirza had left Lebanon at dawn to the Czech Republic for "rest" as "shameful." He commented Mirza and Sakr Sakr's "clear conscience," saying "they are free to say whatever they want. However, if I were at their place, I would be really ashamed."
