Raad accuses Saniora of hampering government´s work
15-5-2009
Loyalty to Resistance bloc leader MP Mohammad Raad said that the opposition will surely win the upcoming parliamentary elections. "The government's work obstruction was caused by Prime Minister Fouad Saniora, who worked with the utmost individualism and exclusiveness, and not because of obstructing third vote," Raad said.
During a political gathering on Friday, Raad said that the Lebanese will decide the position, role and identity of Lebanon in the elections.
He added that the opposition is committed to the choice of the Lebanese, who have to choose between the reconciliation with "Israel" based on the Road Map and the Annapolis Summit and the preservation of Lebanon and its strong position in the region.
Raad warned against "the "Israeli" enemy, who is preparing for more wars, the latest being the drills it intends to perform by the end of the month." The drills were previously discussed during the national dialogue sessions, "but the issue was not followed up with firm diplomatic actions. Only a statement was issued by the Lebanese state, saying it will discuss the matter with UNIFIL," he said.
The bloc leader also said that friendships between certain Lebanese parties, a reference to the March 14 alliance, and the West "makes it easier for the "Israeli" enemy's [operatives] to sneak into Lebanon."
