MP Fadlallah: The Opposition Deals Positively with Polls Results
Hizbullah said all its 11 candidates in Lebanon's election on Sunday won seats in the new 128-member parliament. "All 11 candidates we fielded in the vote have won," Hassan Fadlallah, also an MP in the outgoing parliament, told AFP.
The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP added that by and large, Hizbullah and its allies had won 21 seats in districts in southern Lebanon and 10 seats in the eastern Baalbek region.
Fadlallah would not comment on claims by the ruling coalition saying that the final results were not yet in.
"What matters to us now is that Lebanon turns a new page, one based on partnership, cooperation and understanding," he said. "Lebanon's specificity is in its diversity and there is no majority or minority," he told AFP. "No party can claim to have won the majority among all communities."
