Sayyed Safieddine: The Lebanese ought to benefit from the opportunity they currently face
Hizbollah Site Staff, 24-6-2009
Hizbullah Media Relations
Hizbullah Executive Board Chairman Sayyed Hashem Safieddine confirmed that the parliamentary elections that took place in Lebanon left negative imprints in several domains.
The most dangerous of these negative imprints are the positions that fell in the hands of the money-beast, when we had considered them more immune. These elections also downed some of the cultural positions we had viewed as authentic and fundamental, only to discover them racist and sectarian, regardless of which rhetoric they outwardly apply, whether political or other.
Nonetheless, we believe the election results produced a calm atmosphere which we accepted, contributed and participated in, we encourage keeping the calm atmospheres produced by the parliamentary elections, and consider there is a difference between calm of speech and its actual practical translation.
Until now we have witnessed a superficial calm. In the coming few days we anticipate a realistic and practical translation of the calm and dialogue, to render the situation a true partnership.
Sayyed Hashem Safieddine stressed that the Lebanese stand before an opportunity they ought to make the most out of, in order to reach true accord and partnership.
