The Deputy for Hizbullah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem received, in the presence of Political Council member Mr. Hassan Hudruj, a delegation from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine -General Command (PFLP-GC) headed by Anwar Raja.

They discussed "the general situation in the region, and the dangers the Palestinian cause faces as well as the necessity to invest genuine efforts into the refugees' right to return as a non-negotiable priority, to move with caution against falling into traps placed by global arrogance seeking concessions in 'Israel's' interest."

"We must highlight the suffering of the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza; effort must be made to address human rights and the legitimate demands of the Palestinians in Lebanon, with an emphasis on confronting any form of resettlement."

After the meeting, Raja said: "Lebanon is now on the threshold of a new stage in the full sense of the word; we believe it is necessary to consolidate the track the Palestinian-Lebanese file is on, with actual processes to enhance the confidence between the Palestinians and the Lebanese people, to bring back vitality into this fraternal strategic relationship. This is why our meeting today with "Hizbullah" leadership and with the Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem, this is very important to us."

He added: "We dealt with bilateral and general issues which put everyone at ease and form a gateway for us to grant the Palestinians their civil and human rights. We are confident that a Lebanese government that wants to succeed, would certainly deal with this issue away from the past language of security, and approach this file with humanitarian and political openness."
