Fneish: Blaming Bassil for cabinet formation obstruction is a poor excuse

Labor Minister Mohammad Fneish said in an interview published in As-Safir on Saturday that blaming the impasse in the cabinet formation on the reappointment of Telecommunications Minister Gebran Bassil is a "lame excuse." He stressed that the constitution does not link eligibility for ministerial posts to success in the parliamentary elections.

Fneish also said that Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri is responsible for resolving obstacles "instead of blowing them out of proportion." He emphasized that Hariri himself announced that each party could nominate its own ministers for the new government.
