Moussawi: Many media outlets fell into the trap of lying & lost credibility in the "Tair Felsay" incident
Hizbollah Site Staff, 14-10-2009
Loyalty to the Resistance bloc member MP Sayyed Nawwaf Moussawi said "The U.S. administration, according to its media leakages or statements made through its officials, especially those in charge of the Lebanese affairs file in its foreign ministry, does not want a national unity government in Lebanon, instead it is pushing for a ‘single color' or majority government."
Over the incident that took place in ‘Tair Felsay' village Moussawi addressed the media saying: "A great many Lebanese and non-Lebanese media outlets blundered yesterday by falling into the trap of lying. They lost credibility as they circulated for hours long news that turned out to be false, exposing in the process all the Lebanese to an array of emotions from tension to anxiety to sadness."
He added indicating that "We do not believe what happened was just a media lapse, while at the same time we say there is certain negligence, or rather lack of professionalism and professional media."
In conclusion, Moussawi said: "If the Prime Minister-designate has accomplished an important step in initiating discussions on government formation details with head of the ‘Change and Reform' bloc, General Michel Aoun, he can also complete his steps in order to reach the understanding that establishes a national unity government without delay. Because certain negatively affected Lebanese and mostly non-Lebanese powers do not want stability in Lebanon. These foreign powers continue to use Lebanon as a card in regional and international bazaars, specifically Iraq."
