Sayyed lures massive crowds of resistance..
On the day of Ashura, the day of Imam Hussein's martyrdom, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah gave a speech in Al Raya square, where thousands of Muslims gathered after participating in the ceremony since the early morning.
Sayyed Nasrallah began his speech thanking and praising Allah, saluting the fleet of martyrs of Karbala and our awaited Imam Mahdi, and like always thanking the people for their participation in the commemoration of the ten days of Muharram.
His Eminence, consoled Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his family and renewed the pledge of following their lead and keeping loyalty to them.
"We gather here since the early morning, pouring down tears and expressing grieve to our prophet and Imams. We thank them for their sacrifices that brought to us the message of Islam. Dear brothers and sisters, today you express your loyalty and devotion. Today we address Imam and tell him, if we were with you back then, we would have supported you, and answered your call, but even though not, in our time we carry your goals to revive justice, maintaining Islam, defending the oppressed."
From the Southern Suburb of Beirut, the land of resistance and endurance, Sayyed Hassan declared that the Lebanese are to say a word of righteousness and justice.
Sayyed Hassan said: "Today, we declare clearly, that which threatens our Ummah (nation), its values and its future is the US hegemony scheme led by the successive US governments. We convict its wars against our countries and people. We convict its crimes especially in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as its participation in the "Israeli" crimes. We shall not be fooled by their hypocritical slogans that talk about democracy, freedom and human rights."
His Eminence moved to a second point saying: "Israel, the usurper entity, its greediness, terrorism, and savageness are limitless. In the day of reviving the support of the oppressed, we remind the whole world of its crimes in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, as well as in Lebanon."
"We remind the worlds of its threatening to Al Quds, its people and children and to the Islamic and Christian sanctities. We remind of the millions of refugees in the exile away from home since tens of years, more than 11 thousand Palestinian and Arab detainees in "Israeli" prisons under harsh conditions, the destruction of homes and work places, crops." He continued.
"Last but not least we condemn the constant threat of the region with more wars, whether in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, or Iran." He said.
Sayyed Nasrallah called for the final removal of the Gaza siege, and convicted the new steel wall built on the Egyptian-Palestinian borders, calling upon Egypt to help the Palestinians and reject submission.
As for the crimes taking place in Iraq and the deadly blasts, Secretary General condemned these massacres that serve the US occupation, which wants Iraq to stay weak and divided. He also condemned the silence of the Arab and Islamic world that became used to such dangerous incidents.
On the Lebanese level, Sayyed Hassan said the Lebanese overcame a very critical phase that took place through the past five years owing to perseverance and patience and entered a new phase.
Sayyed stressed that the new phase enjoys a Syrian -Lebanese reconciliation and revival of relations, which is a strength point for both countries. He also highlighted that the unity government -in which most political parties took part in- is a good chance for progress.
On the Resistance and its arms, His Eminence said that the resistance will not be provoked by any actions or comments of parties in the country. He addressed the Christians in Lebanon, he congratulated them for Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ, telling them to reconsider the wagers on the US policy of "some" Christians in Lebanon, calling them to read international changes that have been taking place.
"I tell you today that the interest of the Lebanese Christians is in Lebanon and not somewhere else. It is of their interest to integrate and cooperate with the rest of the Lebanese."
As for the Muslims, His Eminence reminded that over the past years many tried to stir sectarian division among them but they failed, and that all will work together under a unity government to achieve a better life. Sayyed warned that their will be attempts of separating and dividing the Lebanese and that the Lebanese altogether should confront such a challenge.
He also called for the instant release of Imam Moussa Al Sader.
Sayyed Hassan tackled the "Israeli" ongoing threats on Lebanon and Gaza, which resembles the psychological war they have been using. But His Eminence stressed that "Israel" now a days does more talk than action, as it is incapable of acting as before."
"Today, they threaten us with war, but there might not be a war, but a psychological war in order to threaten and frighten us as well as affect our conscience, will, and determination. We have a long experience in resisting "Israel", its occupation and wars."
On the tenth of Muharram, Sayyed Hassan said the Zionists are repeating mistakes from the past, and that the people are not afraid of death just like Imam Hussein confronted vain and sacrificed himself and all what belongs to him. Sayyed Hassan said that we, like any other people want to live in peace and dignity, but in case a war was imposed on us, the resistance and its people will confront and fight back to achieve victory.
