Lebanese sources: “Israeli” withdrawal from Al Ghajar not confirmed.
Local Editor, 29-12-2009
Annahar newspaper stated out American sources, that the contacts directed by the UN with each of Lebanon and the Zionists, aims at applying the UNIFIL plan regarding the future of the occupied AL Ghajar, and with the support of America, resulted with an understanding stating the withdrawal of the enemy out of the northern part of the town, by the end of January 2010, which comes as a conveyance of resolution 1701.
According to Annahar, Lebanon has declared its approval of the plan to the UN. As for the "Israelis", although not stating its approval officially, but told General Claudio Graziano, UNIFEL director, and Michel Williams, the special UN coordinator in Lebanon, that it is willing to withdraw its troops.
As for the American Barak Obama administration, its following up the Al Ghajar file by George Mitchell's envoy team, and his vice, Fredireck Hov, together with the UN, Lebanon, the enemy, and Syria. That was clear because of Hov's tour in the region.
The plan states that the UN, after the withdrawal of the enemy and returning the Lebanese sovereignty to the northern Al Ghajar, will spread 12 UNIFIL militaries, in addition to an officer and three Lebanese militaries. And referring to American sources, under the condition not to change the daily life in the northern and southern parts of Al-Ghajar, in other words, to let the two-thousand populated town freely go in and out of both its parts.
As the acknowledged sources talk confidently about the withdrawal of the enemy troops from Al-Ghajar by the end of next month, these sources see that any delay in the withdrawal will not be because of political reasons, but because of technical reasons, for there are some stuck matters, which general Graziano and the coordinator Williams, are still working on solving with the Zionists before the withdrawal.

Yet, Lebanese media sources said there was no information concerning the "Israeli" withdrawal from Al Ghajar, and that the "Israelis" reject the presence of Lebanese liaison army officers on the Lebanese part so far.
