In a statement given to Al Safir newspaper, Head of Parliament, Nabih Berri, affirmed that the parliament is working energetically, noting that it will have a new start by the beginning of the next year, where the workshop will begin. Berri referred that the parliament will elect the members of the Supreme Council for the Prosecution of Presidents and Ministers, and said that the next year, at its start, will witness a proposal for form a national committee that aims at ending political sectarianism.

Al Safir newspaper noted that Berri sent a book about the proposed committee to all Arab and Foreign embassies and diplomatic missions, and the reasons why he came up with this proposal.
The Head of Parliament said that the book's content is clear, although some might say that this step was early, but he clarified that eighty years was enough and that he was sticking to the constitution and doing his duty.

Berri was asked about the operational steps to be done in the coming period of forming the committee, he answered that it would begin in a press conference that would clarify every future step in this context. And he added that those who do not agree on forming the committee, let them say that they are hung up to the political sectarianism, noting that he will go on with my proposal.

As Berri mentioned that the parliament is waiting for the government's 2010 budget, he said that there are no talks about filling up positions at the time being, although in his opinion, filling up positions is in order, especially that almost half the administration positions are empty, precisely those of first level jobs.
