MP Moussawi: Sison’s Words Unfold Failure of U.S. to Disarm the Resistance
Local Editor, 31-12-2009
Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hussein Moussawi commented on the American ambassador in Lebanon Michele Sison's statement, in which she said that Hizbullah remains outside the law and it is included on the list of terrorist organizations.
Moussawi considered that Sison's words show the failure of the U.S. administration and its inability to disarm the resistance, as well as its incapability to deprive the resistance from its legitimate right of self-defense - that is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights-, which is trampled by successive White House administrations in the context of pre-emptive wars over the region.
He stresses that the resistance is a right, and its arms continues to defend Lebanon from the threats posed by "Israel".
MP Moussawi addressed critics of Sayyed Nasrallah's speech at Ashura by saying that "The objection on the context of what His Eminence said, reduces in its essence the political scheme reflected by those, which absolutely refuses the idea of resisting the "Israeli" occupation.
He noted that the words of Sayyed Nasrallah stems from his concern for the interest of Christians as Muslims, and seeks to spare Lebanon from any new bets, which may lead to grave consequences on the interests of everyone in Lebanon.
MP Hussien Moussawi also considered that the interest of all Lebanese from all sectarian and political affiliations lays in convergence and dialogue, which grant immunity to their country.
Moussawi concluded by calling for dialogue among all Lebanese political powers which allows them to reach acceptable approaches capable of maintaining national sovereignty, freedom and dignity.
