During a 13th Muharram ceremony in Nabatiyeh, South Lebanon, head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Raad made a speech in which he said:

"In the face of aggression we learned from Imam Hussein (pbuh) patience, to persist in confronting aggression and aggressors, to stand fast and adhere to the truth and trust in God."

Raad added: "Bargaining over our rights, and compromising and hesitation in championing these rights is the quickest way to losing them. Those who gambled on choices of bargaining, compromise and humiliating settlements-which accommodate enemy conditions- only reaped disappointment along with their masters, found themselves without ability to regain initiative, with only the choice of rejoining the resistance to liberate the land from occupation."

Raad added: "Domestically, the resistance wants reformation of the political, economic, social and developmental situation. It wants a just life for the people, where everyone is reassured of their rights and interests. In this regard we extend our hands to all honest and loyal political forces keen on achieving reform."

"We tell the Zionist enemy making threats against us, we are the sons of Hussein (pbuh) in the country that gave you lessons in confrontation and refusal to bow to occupation and tyranny. No matter how hard you try, our boots will trample over your arrogance and despotism, annul your occupation, and resist your aggressions. We are lying in wait for you. We do not escape like slaves but resist and fall martyrs until future generations come along to carry the banner and continue the path of defiance and resistance."

"Our resistance continues generation after generation until occupation and "Israel's" threats are removed, when people can feel safe in their home countries again."
