Al Nour Radio station interviewed Hizbullah's Deputy-Secretary General Sheikh Naeem Qassem about Hezbollah's view on the year 2009 and the coming up stage.

Sheikh Naim replied on the campaigns held by some political forces in Lebanon on Hizbullah, which state that Hizbullah has lost its bets, and since we are tough, Qassem states, the reply comes in a position that assures to them that Hizbullah, through the Secretary General's Ashura speech, has given a brotherly advice as partners in the country.

On the level of the Defensive strategy, Sheikh Qassem sought that those facing the resistance are afraid of the consequences of the dialogue table, since the strong resistance's logic will be in order, referring to that the year 2010 will be the year of negotiations.

On the level of forming a national unity government, Sheikh Qassem said that it's an achievement to Hizbullah, the opposition, the Prime Minister Saad Hariri, and MP Walid Jumblat, while it's a failure to others, considering that demanding a consensual democracy is a Christian demand, especially that after the year 2005, he noted, we tried the government of national unity and the government of exclusiveness which ruined the country.

On some of those who took part in the national unity government, Qassem questioned the reason behind such participation if they did not even like the idea.

Hizbullah's Deputy-Secretary General, referring to the work of Hizbullah ministers in the government, promised to help the people, neglecting the presence of any sort of trade or agreement, stating that there is no bargaining when it comes to interests of the people.

Sheik Qassem also shed the light on the importance of not turning the cabinet into a place for alignments, taking into consideration that situations could be solved each on its own with stating each one's position. He also explained Hezbollah's position regarding the privatization issue, stating that they're not with or against, yet privatizing the people's basic needs are out of question.

Sheikh Naim Qassem also continued his talks about the Suni-Shia relationships, saying that the year 2009 was the year of enriching the cooperation and calm between the two sects, after over coming the past disorder. And as for Hezbollah's relationship with the Druz, Sheikh Qassem sought that MP Walid Jumblat's enterprise helped in this situation, reflecting the importance of avoiding a disorder with any sect. He also declared good relations with the President.

Sheikh Naim answered those saying that Prime Minister Saad Hariri's visit to Syria, held disadvantages for Hezbollah, saying that since the beginning, Hezbollah has been supportive to this visit and to enriching the relations between the two countries, describing the Iranian-Syrian relations as good.

Asked whether the year 2009 was the year that shut down the resolution 1559, the Deputy-Secretary General reported that the resolution 1559 was a "dead" decision, and can't make a difference or any effect in the political process.

As for Hezbollah's Regional and International relations, Sheik Naim stated:

On Saudi Arabia: We have no demands on Saudi Arabia, and neither does Saudi Arabia have on us, and any visits are out of question in the time being.

On Egypt: The tension between Hezbollah and Egypt has not yet exceeded the few day period, and we are waiting for the judicial decision.

On the US: The US has reached a dead-end.

On France: The relations are good and flexible, and the French people and all Europeans admitted our power that can not be ignored.

Hizbullah's Deputy-Secretary General assured that the popular mass resistance increased, yet he did not comment on Hezbollah's rocket power.
