Iraq, Iran to Meet from Next Week on Disputed Borders
Local Editor, 7-1-2010
The bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq have been improving recently as officials from both sides meet to mark their disputed border.
Iraq and Iran will hold meetings from next week to formally mark their disputed border, Iranian FM Manouchehr Mottaki said on Thursday.
"There will be a meeting within a week between the two countries about the borders," Mottaki told a news conference in the foreign ministry in central Baghdad, while on a one-day trip to Iraq.
He added that in the following weeks, meetings would be held between technical committees from the two countries to settle on the land and maritime borders separating the two countries.
