George Galloway, British MP and head of the Viva Palestina convoy, affirmed that his convoy was welcomed with joy and most welcome from the people of Gaza, those who saw the convoy yesterday do its best for them.
On a TV interview, Galloway was shocked by Egypt’s behaviors which led members of the convoy to hospitals, for no reason but to deliver medicine and nutrients for the people of Gaza under blockade.
The British MP revealed in the British House of Commons that the Egyptian authorities had promised the convoy the ability of passing to Gaza through Al Arish port, but it did not stick to its promise, stating his surprise of the “Egyptian Leads” who said that what happened was initiated by the convoy members.
Galloway considered that what happened before as the Rafah barrier gave Egypt, which is considered to be the pulse of the Arab heart, shame, and disgrace, because of what the Egyptian government is doing. He also stated that he is certain that the Egyptian people do not approve on the way their government treated the convoy.
Furthermore, Galloway sought that Egypt is a part of the siege sentenced on the Palestinians. He also said that it is starting to play a role in dividing the Arab world, saying that they are building a wall of shame around Gaza for political reasons, because the people of Gaza voted in a free integrity election, which the people of Egypt are banned of this right.
Galloway showed his appreciation for the Egyptian people, who and as he said “who don’t deserve to have such a government”. He added that some members of the Egyptian army were crying yesterday, not because of the tear gas bombs, but because for the Palestinians.
