Minister of State for Administrative Reforms Mohammad Fneish declared that the call for forming a National committee for eliminating political sectarianism would not abolish political sectarianism in Lebanon, stressing that it is no one's right to impede calls for reform or dialogue. Fneish asserted that the call for such committee is constitutional and is based on the National Consensus Accord.

Fneish noted that the delays in the administrative appointments proposal is not mechanical, but in need of a decision form the Cabinet, adding that there are communication channels open to resolve the issue.

Minister Fneish expressed these views during his inauguration of a waste management facility in Ansaar, South Lebanon, in the presence of the Ambassador of the European Union in Lebanon, Patrik Lauren.

"We need to remedy environmental pollution as well as the political environment. We have made large strives on the overall national level in purifying the political environment in Lebanon," Fneish said.

Fneish believed reform in Lebanon, "requires strong political willpower and decisions," adding that the adopting mechanisms for administrative appointments should implement standards of selection on the basis of qualifications, placing the right person in the right position.

Fneish also inaugurated a waste management facility in the Southern town of Abbasiye.
