Iran’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the United States for using residential areas in neighboring countries to launch missile strikes against the Islamic Republic, a tactic Tehran says endangers civilians and regional security.

Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei shared a video on his X account on Monday, showing American forces misusing the territory of a neighboring country to strike Iran. He warned that missiles are being launched from populated areas and that US aircraft are utilizing the airspace of neighboring states to carry out attacks, putting the entire region at risk.

Baghaei emphasized that Iran’s defensive strikes target only US military bases and assets in response to such provocations, and do not aim to harm Arab nations. He stressed that any location from which aggression against Iran originates will be considered a legitimate target.

The statement comes in the context of the ongoing unprovoked war that began on February 28, when the US and “Israeli” forces assassinated Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei along with senior Iranian military commanders. In retaliation, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks on US positions across the region and strategic sites in the “Israeli”-occupied territories.

Baghaei also responded to recent comments by US Senator Lindsey Graham, sharing a clip in which Graham admitted the US aims to control global oil reserves. Baghaei remarked, “Very rare moment of honesty: It’s all about OIL,” highlighting the real motives behind Washington’s aggression toward Iran.
