Iran’s Air Force Vows Rapid Response to Any Threat, Cites Strategic Self-Sufficiency

Iran’s Air Force Commander, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, has asserted that the Islamic Republic’s Air Force stands at the forefront of national defense and is capable of responding to any threat in the “quickest possible time.”
Speaking at the 25th elite conscript training course for university students, Vahedi emphasized the central role of airpower in modern warfare.
“The Air Force is not merely a combat unit—it is the front line of rapid response to any threat,” he stated, adding that dominance in the skies is essential for battlefield control and preserving the nation’s territorial integrity. He warned that any nation unable to secure its airspace remains exposed on both land and sea.
Vahedi highlighted the significant technological advancements achieved by Iran’s Air Force, including smart drones, phased-array radar systems, electronic warfare tools, and layered air defense systems, all of which contribute to Iran’s operational superiority.
He also underlined the importance of defense self-reliance, noting that years of sanctions and restrictions have proven the futility of relying on foreign suppliers. “Through the development of attack drones, indigenous missile systems, aircraft maintenance, and advanced radar technologies, the Air Force has shown that national determination can overcome any challenge,” he said.
Iran’s military doctrine, rooted in the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, remains focused on defense. Iranian officials have consistently stressed that the country’s military buildup is strictly defensive and non-negotiable.
This firm stance comes amid rising regional tensions and threats from adversaries, particularly the "Israeli" entity and its Western allies, including the US. Iran continues to prioritize military self-sufficiency to deter aggression and maintain its sovereignty.
