US Forces Kill 8 Iraqis
Local Editor 13-02-2010
US forces shot eight Iraqis in a village southeast of Baghdad, the majority of which were innocent bystanders.
This incident took place during a raid in the area, resulting in the injury of one other person and the arrest of 12 Iraqis.
"What happened this morning was a massacre in every sense of the word. Eight people were killed. Most of them were innocent", Reuters quoted.
The US military claimed the raid was against suspected members of what it called "a terrorist group".
In response to the incident, Iraqi officials called on US troops to release all those arrested, also demanding an apology for the raid and attack.
