Aoun: We Support the Resistance and Value its Achievements

Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun said following his bloc meeting on Tuesday that he supports the Resistance and values its achievements, in reference to the 2000 "Israeli" withdrawal from South Lebanon.

"Our support for the Resistance is a national choice, and is not political or electoral for attaining domestic goals," Aoun said, adding, "We cannot support [US President Barack] Obama's policies if they support "Israel" and threaten our existence."

He commented on the May 23 municipal and mukhtar elections in South Lebanon, in which his party won in the Jezzine district, saying that the results were acceptable.
