Lebanese Officials Congratulate the Resistance on its Anniversary
On the 10th anniversary of the Resistance and Liberation day, Lebanese officials from various political parties sent their greetings of appreciation to the firm resistance, its courageous fighters, and martyrs.
Minister Mohammad Safadi and MP Kassem Abd El Aziz published a statement saying: "On the 10th anniversary of liberating the South and Western Bekaa, we greet the souls of martyrs who fought in defense of the land, and defeated the occupation."
"We assure the Lebanese, people, army, and resistance, in confronting "Israeli" violations, we also assure our commitment to UN resolutions, and call the UN to impose their implementation on "Israel"," the statement said.
"We also call for the return of Sheba'a farms and Kafarshuba hills under the Lebanese sovereignty. National agreement bloc considers the Lebanese unity a basic to any strategic defense plan, and assures on the central role of the Lebanese army in shaping this strategy," it added.
Minister of state Adnan Kassar said in an announcement, "Liberation day comes, and "Israeli" threats on waging a war against Lebanon recur, in an attempt to scare our people and deviate them away from resistance."
"This is a mission that was and will always be a sacred one that unites the Lebanese without discrimination. Liberation on 25 May 2000 is a glorious day, where the enemy was defeated by the power of our resistance fighters and by their coherence with our brave army," the announcement expressed.
"This defeat was the first to occur, and it is from the sacred land of Lebanon, by the strength and determination of the resistance, and the blood of resistance fighters, whom we greet today and bow in respect to their spirits. We assure our national unity between people, army, and resistance ..." it stressed.
Minister of Sports & Youth, Ali Abdallah, said our conflict with "Israel" is fateful. It is a conflict over the existence of our identity and not just a dispute on borders or affiliation within political camps, he explained.
He continued to say that the only solution for such conflict is the resistance and national unity - the most powerful factor of the Lebanese impunity system against "Israel".
Abdallah's words came during his sponsoring the celebration event for the Resistance and Liberation 10th anniversary, which took place Tuesday at Suhmur Public School and attended by several dignitaries from the region.
MP Khalil clarified in a statement issued on Wednesday to mark Liberation and Resistance Day, "four issues are of priority to Lebanon, the Liberation of the rest of the occupied lands in Shebaa Farms, Kfarchouba hills and the northern part of Al Ghajar village .... the nationalization issue as some information confirms that there is an attempt to consolidate the current state in Lebanon under the title of Optional Nationalism that was mentioned lately by American Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs Assistant."
Al Khalil added the third issue is that of the "water which "Israel" is trying to steal from Lebanon "and the fourth is strengthening national sovereignty "which means that Lebanon should cling to its courageous resistance which has become a bright star in the sky of Lebanon and the Arab World after darkness was about to dominate over our current and future status."
MP Mohammad Kabbani considered that, "Setting the 25th of May a national and official holiday is a normal issue. This glorious day is what marked our people's victory on the "Israeli" enemy, an on his army that ran away in humiliation from South Lebanon, putting an end to the legend of invincible army."
"Our people, men, women, and children, marked in the 24th and 25th of May an epic that entered the national Lebanese and Arab history. A greeting to our brave people who defeated on this day his brutal enemy, and a greeting to the struggling Palestine people who stick to the path of struggle and liberation against the enemy, and who, God willingly, will mark a similar victory even if after a while," Kabbani said.
