In a press conference following a Hamas emergency meeting, Head of Hamas Movement Ismail Haniyeh announced this day to be dubbed "Freedom Day" as the fleet aimed at freeing the Gaza Strip and Breaking the siege. To all the martyrs and wounded, Hamas decided to bestow each and every one of them "Break the Seige" Honor Badge, calling all Gaza aid convoy members heroes of the Palestinian nation and urging Arab leaders to take practical steps to end the Gaza siege.

Haniyeh stressed that the Palestinian Authority should immediately stop all direct and indirect negotiations with the Zionist entity, which has breached all international and human laws.
He also called upon the Arab University, Islamic Conference Organization and Security Council to convene to discuss the "Israeli" blatant violations and take action against such brutality towards armless activists and politicians as well as other participants aboard.

Haniyeh vowed that Hamas will contact all concerned international organizations and cooperate in order to break the siege and take action.

He reiterated that time has come for a third intifada to end the blockade on the strip, calling upon all Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories as well as in the exile to take action and pour into streets to conduct protests and demonstrations in support of the Free Gaza Movement, in protest against the ongoing siege and to condemn the "Israeli" actions.

Haniyeh, at the end of his conference said that nothing can stop the fleets from flowing into the Mediterranean Sea, whose countries should stop "Israeli" piracy, emphasizing that the challenge is ongoing and that the Siege has to come to a final end.

This is the ninth time that the Free Gaza movement, an international group of pro-Palestinian activists, has tried to ship in humanitarian aid to Gaza since August 2008.
