Bassil from Iran Welcomes Iranian Investments in Lebanon

Lebanese Energy and Water Minister Gobran Bassil ended his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran with a meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

During the official meeting, both sides discussed the political situation in Lebanon and the region, in addition to the importance of maintaining the Lebanese stability and support of the resistance in confronting the constant "Israeli" breaches and aggressions.

On another hand, both sides also discussed possibility of developing bilateral economic relations; where President Ahmadinejad expressed total readiness to present Lebanon with all possible services to develop Lebanese abilities especially in fields of energy and water.

Discussions included many aspects that the Iranian side could present aid and support to the Lebanese side, where Lebanese Minister and Iranian President agreed on following up these ideas in order to develop them to becoming executive projects before Ahmadinejad's upcoming visit to Lebanon.

The meeting revealed that there will be extensive work for bilateral joint technical committees, in addition to many Iranian officials' visits to Lebanon in order to help developing and signing investment agreements between both countries.

Before his meeting with Iranian president, Minister Bassil met with Iranian foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, in addition to Minister Nick Ali Zadeh, who is responsible for the Lebanese economy file in the Iranian government, and who will also be accompanying President Ahmadinejad in his visit to Lebanon.
