Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali Akbar Salehi, announced Friday that Iran is ongoing talks with Russia for ordering a large number of radioisotopes in addition to other nuclear medicine.
"Iran and Russia have had agreements on producing nuclear medicine, under which a Russian-made radioisotope sample will be sent to Iran for testing and if we find it up to our standards we will place a large order", Salehi stated.
The top nuclear official stated that Iran is planning on manufacturing some 20 forms of nuclear medicine, where they aim at developing them along with the nuclear reactor to meet national demand.
According to Fars News Agency, Salehi pointed out the reliability of Moscow as a partner in nuclear medicine agreement.
Ali Akbar Salehi added that if this nuclear project was not supported, then Iran will provide fuel for its medical research reactor by September 2011.
In their attempt to develop Iran's nuclear program, the Iranian official added that his organization will be publishing Persian-language books over nuclear energy, which will help student into knowing better about developing this program for the benefit of the country.
"Israeli", the US, and other Western countries, have been insistently trying to accuse Iran of holding a military nuclear program.
However unlike "Israel", Iran is a signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and its peaceful nuclear program is under the total supervision of the UN nuclear watchdog and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
