Mufti of Tripoli and the North Welcomes Nejad’s Visit to Lebanon

The Mufti of Tripoli and North Lebanon Sheikh Malek Al Shaar welcomed the visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Lebanon. In an interview with Al Intiqad, he said "Lebanon, its government, President and people will always be hospitable and welcome all guests."

Sheikh Shaar expressed his appreciation to the visit of Ahmadinejad, pointing out that "the late represents a country that serves the wealth and prosperity of bilateral relations."

Sheikh Shaar praised the Iranian presentations to Lebanon especially in the water and electricity sectors, stating "This big step is added to the series of presentations given to the South after the 2006 July War."

Mufti of Tripoli and North Lebanon criticized those who try to assault Nejad's visit, hoping this visit would be a new door to further cooperation between the two countries.

Finally, Sheikh Shaar addressed Iranian President Ahmadinejad welcoming him and his visit to Lebanon.
