Supreme Leader Receives Maliki, Stresses on Importance of Forming Iraqi Government

Supreme Leader His Eminence Sayyed Ali Khamenei described Iraq as the Islamic Republic of Iran's sister country, calling upon Iraqi politicians to concentrate on forming a government and achieving security and stability in the country, referring that this is what the Iraqi people seek.

Sayyed Khamenei's stance came while he received on Monday Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki and his accompanying delegation, where His Eminence stressed on the importance of speeding up the formation of the Iraqi government, stressing on total security of importance issues that Iraq needs.

In the same context, His Eminence Sayyed Ali added that all officials and politicians should focus on forming the government as soon as possible, affirming that the suffering of the Iraqi people brings sadness to Iran, while Iraq's success and victory brings it happiness.

In this context, the Supreme Leader considered that the security situation in Iraq is much better than before, but he referred to some security flaws, which he blamed the foreign forces for committing.

On his part, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki thanked and appreciated Iran's support of the Iraq people in different levels and tough stages, saying, "Iraqi relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are strategic relations, and come in the lead of Iraqi relations with other countries".
