Kenyan Speaker of Parliament Visits Iran, Supports Right in Nuclear Program

Kenyan Speaker of Parliament Kenneth Marende confirmed his country's support to Iran in purchasing its own peaceful nuclear program.
During a meeting between Marende and his Iranian counterpart, Ali Larijani in Tehran, both sides signed a memorandum which includes the support of each country for the other to purchase its modern technological techniques on the level of peaceful nuclear energy.
In another context, both officials stressed on the importance of respecting sanctities of all religions, condemning assaults on religion books under any cover.
Speaker Kenneth Marende is on an official six-day visit to Iran, where he will be meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Iranian Foreign Minister, in addition to a delegation from the Iranian-Kenyan parliamentary group.
The meetings will include discussions over bilateral relations, in addition to the developments on the regional and international level, where both sides will work on enhancing relations on the political, economic and diverse cultural aspects.
