Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received on Monday Prince of Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, in the Iranian Capital of Tehran, where both sides discussed latest developments on the regional and international levels.

Both parties also discussed the Lebanese file, especially with what is concerned with the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and the indictment, stressing on the importance of maintaining the status quo in Lebanon.

In this context, both countries assured the importance of unity between Islamic countries, in confronting conspiracies that aim at triggering incitements and conflicts.

On his part, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad described the Iranian Qatari bilateral relations as brotherly and excellent, confirming that Iran seeks to boost its cooperation with other countries of the region, as it has developed its relations with Qatar.

President Ahmadinejad urged Qatar to achieve peace and developments through enhancing its relations and cooperation with other countries, in addition to avoiding any formal dispute.

On the other hand, Prince of Qatar believed that relations between his country and the Islamic Republic of Iran are being enhanced, in accordance with what best serves the interests of the peoples and the region.

Prince Hamad referred to the attempts that trigger conflict between the Sunnis and the Shiites in the region, saying that although those attempts failed, each country should be careful and work on achieving more unity and solidarity.
