Shami to Ban Ki-moon: Any Usurpation by “Israel” of Lebanon’s Oil Resources is Violation of Laws
Local Editor
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ali Shami, addressed on Tuesday the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, with a letter touching on the southern borderlines of the Lebanese pure economic zone, in the light of newly published information about Israel's contracting with a number of companies to explore gas and oil in the Mediterranean basin.
The Minister stressed "Lebanon's right to fully exploit oil resources that exist , within the Lebanese pure economic zone, reported the National News Agency.
"Any usurpation by "Israel" of Lebanon's oil resources is flagrant violation of international laws and norms, and an attack on the Lebanese sovereignty," he considered.
