Minister Khalifeh: Opposition Ministers’ Resignation Came as Legislation to Status Quo
Local Editor
Resigned Lebanese Health Minister Mohammad Khalifeh confirmed that the second step for the opposition after its ministers' resignation is to resort to the constitution in its actions.
In this context, Minister Khalifeh confirmed that there are no conditions set by the opposition for the formation of the new government.
Khalifeh referred that there is no reason for the resignation, but said that practically, it came as legislation to a status quo that had taken place for months.
Furthermore, Minister Khalifeh said that dialogue will continue between the Lebanese in different political issues, confirming that the upcoming government will be a government of national unity.
Regarding talks about excluding Saad Hariri as the future PM, Khalifeh said it is early to exclude Hariri from this position, adding that parliamentary consultations will name the new Prime Minister.
