Riyadh Refuses Hariri’s Initiative to Hold International Meeting into Renaming Him as PM

As-Safir daily mentioned that Former Lebanese PM Saad Hariri tried to adopt the idea of holding an international meeting in Paris, as a door into renaming him as the new Prime Minister.

Hariri's idea came similar to the election of Lebanese President Michel Suleiman two and a half years ago, who was named President by foreign countries.

Former PM's initiative was rejected by Saudi Arabia, where the later refused to convince Damascus, and the Saudi position was later followed by a Lebanese refusal.

Syria had already refused to interfere in the Lebanese internal affairs after the failure of the Saudi-Syrian efforts.
