General Aoun: Hariri not to Go Back to being PM, Foreign Countries Seek Lebanon’s Corruption
Local Editor
Head of Change and Reform Bloc MP General Michel Aoun confirmed that Saad Hariri should not go back to being the Prime Minister.
Aoun wondered whether the foreign figures who visited Lebanon would agree to have a PM who has lost his credibility among his people.
Michel Aoun also wondered what other countries do if they had millions of dollars missing like in Lebanon.
In this context, MP Aoun denounced how some foreign countries name someone who is evidently in a relation with the false witnesses.
After his meeting with UN Secretary General Special Coordinator for Lebanon Michael Williams, Michel Aoun said he asked what he [Williams] would do if a Prime Minister was revealed to be involved in such fabrication.
Aoun stated that Williams' response was that there would be a tribunal established for this issue. Aoun also asked, "What would happen if there were a waste of money". Williams answered that it would be up to the tribunal to decide on that issue as well.
On this level, Aoun said, "Why do those countries want to rename a person accused of directing false witnesses in the international investigations, and there are tens of millions of dollars missing because of that person and his political project".
Furthermore, MP Aoun stressed that Saad Hariri should not go back to being a Prime Minister, adding that the Sunni sect has the finest men other than Saad Hariri for this position.
Aoun stressed that the Lebanese need a clear government that respects moral laws and legal articles, adding that there Lebanese people ought to be independent with their decision.
Upon question, Aoun pointed out Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Al Faysal's stance concerning a division in Lebanon, saying that Lebanese will not witness any division whether "Israel" wants it or not.
Head of Change and Reform Bloc warned foreign interferences from continuing their interference in Lebanon, adding that the Lebanese people are not allowed to reconstruct their country stressing that foreign countries seek the corruption of Lebanon.
