Mikati Assures Offering Himself for Candidacy: There Should Be A Project to Save The Country
Former PM Najib Mikati assured he offers himself for candidacy of the premiership. Upon meeting Lebanese President Michel Suleiman in context of binding consultations, Mikati said "I met with His Excellency President Michel Suleiman, and I informed him of the reasons behind my candidacy for premiership.
In this sensitive time, and in light of all the conflicts, there should be a recovery project; it is time for us all to join hands together. Answering questions on whether he is a consensual candidate, Mikati considered that consensus is in performance, reminding of his performance when he was in premiership in 2005, reiterating he is a centralist.
Mikati added "Here I am, extending my hand to all. Everyone knows that I enjoy a good relation with all, we are all one hand for the sake of the country, and we will always be so."
The centralist candidate noted "Most of them know the extent of my keenness on Lebanon, my country, my sect, my Sunnism, as well as on the premiership, the national resistance and my constant care on dialogue."
Mikati finally asserted that any political issue cannot be resolved unless through dialogue.
