Upon declaring Najib Miqati for new Premiership, he announced on his part that he will start his consultations into the government's formation on Wednesday.
Miqati kicked off his visits to former Prime Ministers and other political figures as part of the Lebanese protocol to be followed after assigning a prime minister.
On his part, MP Walid Jumblatt believed that naming PM Miqati meets his beliefs, with respect to the political geography and national principals.
Head of the National Arab Struggle Front Bloc MP Walid Jumblatt confirmed that PM Miqati is a man of moderation, a well known businessman, and has excellent international and Arab relations.
Jumblatt added that Miqati is mostly concerned with the national principles and those of the Taef accord, wondering why some sides are trying to deteriorate these facts.
In an interview with As-Safir newspaper, Jumblatt stressed that there was no need for a "Day of Rage", but rather Lebanon needed a day for respecting its institutions, law and constitution, in addition to accepting the democratic game.
He also confirmed that no one can cancel the role of the other team, stressing that there must be a closure for the conciliation, affirming that he agrees with Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in his stance.
Whether he was subject to any pressure in order to drop his vote in favor for former PM Saad Hariri and vote for PM Miqati, MP Jumblatt said, "I was not subject to any pressure from anyone, not Syria or Hizbullah".
MP added that he followed his beliefs in respecting the political geography with his decision in August 2 2009, where he decided to refer back to his national principles, including the Taef accord.
On the other hand, Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri praised PM Najib Miqati, who according to Berri, proved to be the most convenient person for the premiership at this stage of time.
Berri clarified that Miqati has a broad Sunni representation, a moderate national choice, and important international and Arab relations.
In this context, Lebanese Speaker added that if having him [Miqati] for PM hasn't yet met a regional-international acceptance, then it will meet it faster than some are expecting.
In an interview with As-Safir newspaper, Berri denied having the opposition imposing conditions on Miqati before naming him.
In the same context, Nabih Berri expressed irony regarding the March 14 stance that Miqati is Hizbullah's and the opposition's candidate.
Berri called for forming a government of national rescue having the needed efficiency, even if it does not include all parties, referring that no one should mind the formation of a technocratic government, considering its need for political support.
On the other hand, Head of Change and Reform Bloc General Michel Aoun denounced the unjustified attack on PM Najib Miqati, calling for enhancing the national unity, and getting rid of inciting and sectarian rumors spread by the other team's Media.
While receiving Lebanon's new PM Najib Miqati, Aoun confirmed "Some Lebanese parties' claims that we are trying to cancel the presence of the Sunnis is not true. We are only against the political path of former PM [Saad Hariri], where we consider that his performance if incorrect and days will show these mistakes".
Prior his visit to General Michel Aoun, PM Najib Miqati paid a visit to former PM Rashid Al Solh, as part of his protocol visits to former Lebanese PMs.
Lebanese PM Najib Miqati then visited former PM Omar Karami, followed by a visit to former PM Foad Siniora.
Furthermore, Miqati made a phone call with former PM Salim Al Huss, where both sides discussed the latest updates.
On his part former PM Al Huss hoped Miqati the best in his task as the new Lebanese PM.
The last visit scheduled for PM Miqati was to former PM Saad Hariri.
