Karami: Tripoli Riots, Party of Madness in Which Future Movement Lost Too Much
Local Editor
Former PM Omar Karami hoped PM Najib Miqati would succeed in solving all the internal problems, starting from the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, the living situation, and conducting vital projects.
After meeting with PM Najib Miqati, Karami confirmed he does know anything about the new government to be formed, adding that former PM Saad Hariri and his allies announced they will not take part in the new government.
In this context, Omar Karami said that there will be talks to try and convince them [Saad Hariri and allies] into taking part in the government.
Karami said in case that does not happen, and then a monochromic government will be formed, and will be a technocratic government.
Whether the Karami family will take part in the government to be formed, Omar Karami stressed that positions are the least concerns in all his family's political history.
On another level, Karami referred that not all those who participated in the "Day of Rage" where from Tripoli, considering that what happened was a "party of madness where the Future Movement lost too much".
Former PM Omar Karami believed that accusing Miqati of being Hizbullah's candidate triggers sectarian incitement, especially to the Sunni part, stressing that danger cannot be escaped but through cooperation.
