Moallem: Syria Ready to Cooperate with Miqati’s Government to Implement Bilateral Agreements

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem considered what happened in Lebanon, regarding assigning Najib Miqati for premiership, meets the Lebanese constitutional situation.

Moallem hoped Miqati would be able to form a government of national unity.

In a joint press conference with his British counterpart, William Hague, the Syrian Foreign Minister said that what happened in Lebanon meets the Lebanese constitutional situation, adding that Syria respects the Lebanese people's choices.

Minister Moallem urges all Lebanese parties to take part in the hoped government of national unity.

The Syrian Foreign Minister confirmed his country's readiness to cooperate with PM Najib Miqati's government, in order to implement all agreements signed by both sides to meet what both, the Syrian and Lebanese peoples seek to achieve.

"We respect the sovereignty and stability of Lebanon, and we want to build relations based on mutual respect", Moallem said, calling upon all the countries of the globe to commit to what Syria is committed to.
