Bassil Urges Formation of New Government, Confirms No Clemency with Corruption

Resigned Energy and Oil Minister Gibran Bassil hoped the new government would be formed as soon as possible, because the country needs an executive authority which was shut down in the former government, before the former opposition ministers resigned.

Minister Bassil confirmed there will be no clemency with corruption, referring that it is not acceptable for the corruption and finance waste issues to continue.

"The new government should be formed with competencies and a sufficient political power to confront", Minister Bassil stated in reference to corruption issues.
