Russian Ambassador Visits MP Franjiyeh, Stresses on Russia’s Support to Lebanon

Head of Lebanese Al Marada movement, MP Suleiman Franjiyeh received Monday the new Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin.

Both sides discussed the recent developments on the local and regional level, in addition to the level of Lebanese-Russian bilateral relations.

After the meeting, the Russian Ambassador stated that he discussed with MP Franjiyeh latest Lebanese affairs, and confirmed his country's commitment to its supportive approach towards Lebanon.

"We always want Lebanon to be a free, sovereign, and independent country, which is why we support all efforts that help Lebanon head on the democratic path", Ambassador Zasypkin affirmed.

Regarding the situations in the region, the Russian Ambassador referred it is too early to make conclusions on further developments, because they are moving fast.

He also added that the region is passing through radical developments and is entering a new phase.

Furthermore, Ambassador Alexander Zasypkin said that his country is monitoring developments in Lebanon and the region, stressing that the most important is that these developments would not lead to any human losses.
