Lahoud: Assigning PM Miqati, Result of Constitutional Parliamentary Consultations

Former Lebanese President Emile Lahoud confirmed that assigning Najib Miqati to form the Lebanese government came as a result of consultations that were held in a perfect constitutional form.

Lahoud considered that what happened is a positive step on the road of uniting the official stance, in light of what is threatening Lebanon of schemes to sabotage Lebanon's strength represented by the people, army, and resistance equation.

In a statement issued from his Media Bureau, former President Lahoud stated that the coexistence charter agreed upon by the Lebanese should be immunized; clarifying that is represents the savior for Lebanon and its people.

Furthermore, Lahoud referred that what is occurring in the Arab World of broad popular protests, overthrew some ruling regimes.

In this context, Emile Lahoud stated that through the Arab popular uprisings, it is clear how the west, precisely the US, abandoned its closest allies.

Lahoud further stressed that Lebanon should learn from other countries' experiences before signing any suspicious agreements, in order to protect Lebanon, its people and charter.
