The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei visited the holy shrine of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) on Monday. In his visit, Ayatollah Khamenei recited the first chapter of the Holy Quran [Sura al Fatiha] and paid tribute to Imam Khomeini (r.a.).

The visit was made on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the 1979 victory of the Islamic Revolution and the historic return of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) to Tehran.
Imam Khamenei later visited the tombs of the martyrs of Tir 7 (June 28) and prayed to God to bestow upon them the highest position in the hereafter.

On Tuesday, Millions of Iranians across the country open celebrations. The ceremonies kicked off all over the country morning (9:33 a.m. Local timing) , the time when the late founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, returned to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on February 1, 1979 from a 14-year exile in Paris.

The day of Imam Khomeini's return to Iran marks the start of 10 days of celebrations (10-Day Dawn), which culminate on February 11 -- the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 32 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.
