Shatila Urges Formation of National Government that Supports Resistance
Local Editor
Head of the Lebanese Popular Conference Kamal Shatila considered that any government formed should adopt major political sidelines, where the priority should go to freeing the land and restoring focus that Lebanon's power is in its unity, resistance and army.
Shatila also urged that the new government should set an implementing plan for the Taef accord, and should reconsider the entire economic situation in Lebanon.
During his visit to former PM Omar Karami, Kamal Shatile said it is normal to meet with PM Karami to take into consideration his opinion and consultation in the current situation in Lebanon.
"We believe that PM Karami has a special place in the Arabic National Movement in the country, and we have discussed many issues", Kamal said after both sides met.
Head of the Popular Conference referred that a government cannot be formed through assigning technocrat ministers from only one sect, saying this is considered to be far from political justice.
