Berri Says Government to See Light This Week, Thani Assures Ongoing Support to Lebanon
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri assured that Premier-designate Najib Miqati's government will see light this week but lamented that the March 14 forces refused to take part in the government"
"The government will witness the bright and blessed life this week," he said.
"Unfortunately, it seems that some parties don't want to participate in the national salvation cabinet. This has been announced by Phalange party leader Amin Gemayel," Berri told Voice of Lebanon radio station.
During his visit to Doha, Berri discussed with Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.
Berri further thanked Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani for all the effort his country has presented to Lebanon.
On his part, Qatari Emir expressed his country's readiness to support Lebanon on the different levels, which was earlier demonstrated through the Doha accord.
Al Thani assured that his country is ready to present all the economic and political support to Lebanon, stressing this comes in context of "supporting the choice of the Lebanese". He further noted that "Qatar's policy towards Lebanon stays as it is."
