Larijani: US, “Israel” Obstacles to Middle East Stability, Arab And Islamic Wolrd Should Support Egypt and Tunisia

Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani has blasted the US and "Israel" for destabilizing the Middle East region, saying Iran would spare no effort to restore regional stability.

"The United States and the Zionist regime (Israel) are creating obstacles in the way of movements by the Egyptian and Tunisian nations through different means, but Muslim states in the region should help people of these two countries," Larijani told reporters upon his arrival in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Thursday after he wrapped up a day-long official visit to Qatar.

Larijani added that the popular movements in Egypt and Tunisia are aimed at restoring the rights of the two countries' nations, IRNA reported.

He emphasized that the Islamic Republic has always supported regional countries and noted that he held "broad" talks with senior Qatari officials in this regard.

The Iranian Majlis speaker also explained that Iranian and Qatari officials discussed cooperation between the two countries' parliaments, investment and economic, cultural and social development.
