Jumblatt Hopes Hariri Not Part of US Pressure on Lebanon, Says US Scheme is to Destroy Hizbullah

Head of Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblatt criticized the US pressures exerted on Lebanese, especially on the economic level and targeting the banking sector.

In an interview with LBC TV station, Jumblatt stated that he discussed this issue with the US Congress delegation that visited Beirut recently.

MP Jumblatt believed sending this delegation is a form of pressure to keep the tribunal no matter what was the cost.

He hoped that caretaker PM Saad Hariri is not part of this US team aiming at installing pressure in Lebanon, confirming that the US scheme in Lebanon aims at destroying Hizbullah at any cost and destroying Lebanon at cost as well.

MP Walid Jumblatt further hoped that Saad Hariri would go back to his father Rafiq Hariri's patriotic and Arab roots.

Regarding the accusations by Hariri, the Jumblatt was a traitor and a deceiver, the latter clarified that he adopted his latest political stances to stop any incitement and maintain the national unity, stressing that he does not regret his decision.
